The local Post Office on the Hinckley Road Parade has reopened after an £80,000 refurbishment.
Postmaster Hemandra Hindocha was
due to retire after 30 years service but decided to sign a new contract and stay on.
The improvements have been paid for with funding from the Post Office with added investment from Mr Hindocha. He said: 'I enjoy working with the community but if I'd retired the Post Office would have closed which would have a knock on effect to all the other business on the road. This was the only way to give the Post Office here a future.'
The Post Office now has a mini-market so customers can pick up essentials and newspapers while using their traditional services.
