I think you can park anywhere on the road you like anyway you like as long as there are no restrictions i.e. yellow lines and NOT causing an obstruction, i think the problem here is many vehicles stick out into the left lane of traffic, this can cause a problem for people who do not use this road very much. If the council, police etc want drivers to park parallel to the traffic they need to paint bays so people know the 'rules' have changed
I always park diagonally there. Isn't that the way you are supposed to park! Madness to park any other way!
Motorist who parked diagonally in the bays by the parade of shops on Hinckley Road have been ticketed following a complaint.
Most of us who use the shops, park like this, otherwise it's hard to find a space.
Whilst it?s technically illegal to reverse out onto a carriageway, I don?t recall many collisions. Furthermore, parking horizontally in the bays severely cuts down on the amount of footfall to our local shops and their trade will suffer.
I have seen traffic wardens ignore this situation for years, so which numpty made the complaint? Nothing better to do perhaps?
